NBA suspends Dallas Mavericks' Nowitzki one game

The margin for error is so slim, the race in the Western Conference so tight, that every game is crucial. This game could really be a factor in who will face who in the playoffs.

The NBA office announced Wednesday that Dirk Nowitzki has been suspended for one game without pay for his flagrant foul on Andrei Kirilenko in the first quarter of the team's loss to Utah on Monday.

That leaves the Mavericks without their leading scorer for tonight's game against the Houston Rockets, who bring a 16-game winning streak to American Airlines Center.
